The curriculum for Spanish as a foreign language at the Language Centre follows the European guidelines for languages detailed in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
These include guidelines for learning, teaching and evaluation developed for Spanish by the Instituto Cervantes in its Curricular Plan (2006).
The Language Centre offers courses at all six levels from Beginner (A1) to Proficiency (C2) — and the courses are recognized by the University of Vigo through ECTS and similar credit-transfer systems.
In addition to this, optional activities such as guided tours, fun activities, workshops,
and day trips are offered during the afternoons, allowing students to take full advantage of their free time during their stay in Vigo.

In addition to these courses and tours, students also have the option of participating in educational workshops related to Spanish culture in general and Galician culture in particular.
On the first Saturday of every two-week period there is a guided sightseeing tour of one of Galicia’s emblematic places of interest.
A1 and A2 levels
Morning sessions consist of three hours of daily Spanish language class and one workshop hour dealing with vocabulary, conversation, and pronunciation, among other things.
B1, B2, C1 and C2 levels
Morning sessions consist of three hours of daily Spanish language class and one workshop hour dealing with vocabulary, history and culture, written communication, pronunciation and Spanish literature, among other things.
In addition to this, students may combine course participation with additional educational tours that are not included in the course price. Please see below Optional Trips and Workshops fees.
Optional Trips and Workshops (afternoons)
* Tour and wine-tasting at a registered Rías Baixas winery
* Workshop on traditional Galician dance
* Visit to a mussel cultivation float or batea. Includes boat trip and mussels tasting.
* Gourmet foods workshop
* Workshop on Galician magic: traditions, legends and folk art
Students also have the option of going on a guided sightseeing trip on the first Saturday of each two-week session.
